Synopsis

A tragic love story between Helena a young Jewish prisoner in Auschwitz and the SS officer Franz Wunsch. The forbidden relationship resolved in Franz saving Helena's sister out from the gas chambers, back into the living, but the sister's two children are left there to die.
 
As of today, a surprising channel of communication opened between the SS officer’s daughter and the children of Helena and Rosa. For the first time, they are willing to look bravely straight into the past, and to unveil the silenced episodes in the life of their mothers.
