Synopsis

A vibrant musical comedy about the commander of a military barrier outside an Arab village at the edge of civilization. One morning the young commander discovers he's coming down with a strange disease – the village Arabs are "disappearing" on him, He can't see them. Timing couldn't be worse – he must perform, on his commanding officer's whim, and sing a song in Arabic with Arab musicians from the village before a UN delegation, to prevent the barrier from being shut down. The song happens to be of his late grandfather, which was actually an Arabic musician, and to whom he doesn't really feel any connection. Matters at the Barrier get even more complicated when his hippy girlfriend finds out about the UN wanting to close down the place.
